Rizzoli & Isles: Female Empowerment

Rizzoli & Isles are two women in powerful positions who can accomplish anything they put their minds to while having an influence upon others. As such, the show empowers women with both characters coming from different points of view and background while remaining true to themselves in getting their job done. As a testament to this, Rizzoli & Isles won Best Drama at the 'Women's Image Netork Awards' in 2010.  

I love how this show portrays these two women as successful and powerful. The roles these women play are positive and empowering. This cast does a wonderful job with these characters. I am proud to see Rizzoli and Isles on TV.  There is so much on the television that projects women as sex objects.  It is quite refreshing to see two professsional women.



See the reason why Rizzoli & Isles won Best Drama at the 2010 Women's Image Network Awards is because the show is outstanding.  If you haven't watched "Rizzoli & Isles," I urge you to tune in. Rizzoli & Isles: Female Friendship and Loyalty

Rizzoll & Isles on TNT follows Boston detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and medical examiner Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander), complete opposites and great friends who solve crimes and bust some of Boston's most notorious criminals. Growing up at opposite ends of the economic spectrum, the two remain drastically different from one another in many ways. Despite their many differences, Jane and Maura are great friends with a  supportive relationship who often find themselves working together as both use their brilliant minds and expertise to figure out the 'who done it' as well as the 'how done it' of Boston's most complex cases.

                                                                           

             The relationship between Jane and Maura reminds me of my relationship with my friend Amanda. We are complete opposites.  She is very outgoing and loud. I am very reserved. We bring out the best in each other. Have you had a chance to view TNT's drama series Rizzoli & Isles? The show is  about the relationship of 2 distinctly different women. One is tough police detective, Jane Rizzoli, and the softer, more geeky medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles. The series is based on the mystery novel series Rizzoli/Isles by Tess Gerritsen. She saids  this adaptation of her novels  was a dream come true. And being that it's an adaptation, the developed history and storyline enhances the show greatly!


What if my blog became a tv series? I  would be the star, a full-time working mom who loves music, cooking and saving money, couponing and my 7 beautiful children who keep me busy and on my feet at all times.  With kids ranging from 1-16 years of age there will never be a dull moment!  What do you think?
